How a takedown works

Send the notice below. It needs your name and contact details, what your work is, where it is used on Starbook, a statement that you believe the use is not authorised, a statement that the notice is accurate and that you own the work or may act for its owner, and your signature (typing your full name is enough). You do not need a Starbook account.

A moderator reviews each notice. When it is complete, we take the content down promptly and tell the person who posted it, privately, including how to send a counter-notice. We may share your notice, without your email address, with that person.

Please only send a notice for work you own or represent. A notice that knowingly misrepresents infringement can carry legal liability.

Counter-notice

If your work was taken down and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, or you have the right to use it, write to legal@starbook.si with your name, address and phone number, the address of what was removed, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and your signature.

We pass the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us they have started legal action, we may restore the content after 10 to 14 business days.

Repeat infringement

Accounts that repeatedly post others' work without permission are suspended.
